What is Nafs and types of Nafs ?

Nafs  is the levels of Human soul according to their nature.

There is the Nafs Al Ammara. The soul of man which is prone to evil.
Here the self's desires over come the spirit and man is more prone to
doing bad acts. This is in danger unless Allah shows mercy upon it.

The other is Nafs Lawwama. The self accusing soul or soul which have
self counciousness. Here one will start feeling happy when some good is
done and feel bad when some bad deeds are mistakely committed.

The top is Nafs al Muthmainna: Fully satisfied soul. The soul at peace.
This is of the best degree to which Allah will call it at time of death
to come to Him well pleased and will be asked to enter Paradise for

second meaning of nafs is the spirit, the
human being in reality, his self and his person. However, it is described differently
according to its different states. If it assumes calmness under command and has removed
from itself the disturbance caused by the onslaught of passion,
 it is called "the
satisfied soul" (al-nafs al-mutma'inna)...

In its first meaning the nafs
does not envisage its return to God because it has kept itself far from Him: such a nafs
is from the party of shaytân. However, when it does not achieve calmness, yet sets itself
against the love of passions and objects to it, it is called "the self-accusing
soul" (al-nafs al-lawwama), because it rebukes its owner for his neglect in
the worship of  Allah... If it gives up all protest and surrenders itself in total
obedience to the call of passions and shaytân, it is named "the soul that
enjoins evil" (al-nafs al-ammara bi al-su’)... which could be taken to
refer to the soul/self.

Question:The three different souls that have been stated, are actually the factor of soul that has been enhanced in a particular direction, while the soul in itself is one and same?

Soul is nafs? or soul and nafs are separate?

=== detailed explanation about Ruh And Nafs ===

The Qur'aan and Sunnah give us only a limited knowledge concerning the soul.
From it we can say that the Arabic words 'Ruh' and 'Nafs' are both used,
sometimes interchangeably, for the soul

" Ruh is an entity which differs totally from the physical body. It is a subtle,
ecclesiastical, enlightened living and moving body which penetrates into the
depths of the organs and flows into them like the water in the rose or the oil
in the olive or the fire in the coal. As long as these organs remain able to
accept the impressions of this subtle body, the 'Ruh' remains attached to these
organs and provides them with feeling and movement. But when these organs are
spoiled because of the dominance of diseased elements upon it, and they are no
longer able to accept the impressions of the soul, it leaves the body and heads
towards the world of the souls. "

There is some difference in the way the words 'Ruh' and 'Nafs' are used. The 'Ruh'
is the subtle spirit which resides in the heavens and needs a physical body to
carry it on the earth. When this spirit is given a body, life begins and it is
described as 'Nafs'. The word 'Nafs' is used in a number of ways by the Qur'aan,
all of which imply the meaning of a soul with a body.

1. 'Nafs' meaning "Self."

You know what is in my self but I do not know what is in Your self (Soorah Al-Ma?ida
(5):v 116)
2. 'Nafs' meaning "Blood".

The (insect) which has flowing Nafs (blood).?
3. Nafs as a strong force in man, which can push him either towards good or
evil. The concept of 'Nafs al Ammara bis Su' ('Nafs' which encourages evil) and
'Nafs al Lawwama' ('Nafs' which blames) and 'Nafs al Mutmainna' ('Nafs' which is
contented) are discussed in the next chapter.

Two deaths and two lives

The Qur'aan mentions two deaths and two lives given to us by Allah

How can you reject faith in Allah, seeing that you were dead and He gave you
life. Then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you to life, then to Him
will be your return.?
(Soorah Al-Baqarah (2): 28)

They will say: Our Lord, twice have You given us death and twice have You given
us life?"
(Soorah Al Mumin v 11)

When the soul is first created it has no physical body and is considered to be a
dead creature. In this state it is referred to as 'Ruh', and this is the first
death as even death is created by Allah.

He is the one who created Death and life in order that He may try which of you
is best in deeds , and He is the Exalted, the Forgiving.(Soorah Al Mulk (67): 2)

The Qur'aan also tells us that all the souls of mankind were created before the
creation of Adam and were asked to testify to the Lordship of Allah.

When your Lord drew forth from the loins of the children of Adam their
descendants, and made them testify concerning themselves: ?Am I not your Lord ,They said, ?Yes, we do testify.? This lest you should say on the Day of
Judgement: ?We were not aware of this.? ?
(Surah Al A?raaf v 272)

The first life begins when the soul is breathed into an embryo in the womb of
its mother, and now the soul is referred to as 'Nafs'. The word Nafs is also
used for ?blood?, and so women who are in a state of post-natal bleeding are
known as 'Nufasaa?. As long as blood surges healthily through the body, there
will be life in that body.

Abdullah ibn Mas?ud reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alaihe
wa-sallam) said:

Indeed the creation of each one of you is brought together in his mother?s
belly for forty days in the form of a seed, then he is a clot of blood for a
similar period, then a morsel of flesh for a similar period. An angel is then
sent to him who blows the breath of life into him...?
(Saheeh al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Scholars of Islam have concluded from this hadeeth that because the angel of
life blows the soul into the fetus when it is 120 days old, abortion on very
strict medical grounds is permissible only before the fetus is 4 months old.
Once life has been blown into the fetus it becomes a living creature and to
terminate its life is murder.

The second death occurs when the soul leaves the body at the end of its
appointed time on earth.

Every Nafs (soul) shall taste death...?
(Soorah Aal Imran (3): 185)

The Nafs dies and is buried, while its soul soars up to the heavens. That is why
the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihe wa-sallam) taught us:
"At death, the eyes follow the departing soul, so close the eyes."

The second life will be the eternal life beginning on the Day of Judgment when
the bodies will be resurrected and their souls will be blown into them once

Black magic in Islam

=== Black Magic In Islam ===

Practicing magic is forbidden in Islam.  Magic is such an evil that happy families are destroyed and sane people go mad.  The differences and disasters of the world are through this.  For this reason, magic has no right to be in human society, so much so that in under Islamic rule, they are to be executed by law. For this reason, Hadhrat ‘Umar (May Allah be well pleased with him) passed a law in his caliphate that magicians should be executed.  It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Sha’asha:

Translation: One year before the martyrdom of Hadhrat ‘Umar (May Allah be well pleased with him), we received his order that magicians should be executed.  (Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith No. 3045)

When it is proved beyond doubt that someone is harming people with magic and is being blasphemous then that person will be executed, the way dacoits are killed.  As ‘Allama Shami (May Allah shower His mercy on him) says in Radd Ul Muhtaar, Muqaddima.

Imam Azam (May Allah shower His mercy on him) says that when a magician confesses to magic or it is proved by the testimony of other people, he/she will be killed and his repentance will not be accepted.

Similarly, those people who go to magicians also deserve strict punishment and it has been said about such people that they have been ungrateful on the bounty of Islam as has been related:

Translation: Hadhrat Hubairah narrates on the authority of Hadhrat ‘Abdullah, he says:  The person who goes to a magician or to those who claim to know is hidden or a soothsayer, then indeed that person has denied the Word revealed to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  (Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaiba)

Those who indulge in magic will never be successful in this world or in the hereafter, as Almighty Allah says:

Whatever they have wrought is but a deceitful trick of a sorcerer, and wherever a magician may come, he will not be successful.’  Surah Taha (20:69)

A soothsayer is a person who falsely claims to know the unseen.  It is mentioned in the Hadith:

Translation: It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  The person who has sex (when the wife is) in menstruation, or has anal sex or goes to a soothsayer has denied the Holy Quran and the Hadith.

Imam Tirmidhi (May Allah shower His mercy on him) says that in this Hadith a strict warning has been issued and the soothsayer has been warned.  Here denial of faith is not meant in its actual form but as a form of ungratefulness.  (Jame’ Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 135)

Ruling on folding pant (trousers) in Namaz

=====Ruling on folding pant (trousers) in Namaz========

It is makrooh for a person to fold pant in Namaz prophet Nabi sallallahu alyhi wa sallam said not to fold trousers (pant ) in namaz . here is the Sahi hadith which Forbid this acts

=== Proofs from Sahi hadith ===

Sahih muslim,Book 004, Number 0993:

Ibn 'Abbas raziAllah anhu reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) had been commanded to prostrate on seven (bones) and forbidden to fold back hair and clothing.
This should be enough, its makrooh to do it,

Sahih al-Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 12, Number 773

Ibn Abbas (radiAllahu anhu) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) was ordered [by Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta'Ala] to prostrate on seven parts and not to tuck up the clothes or hair [while praying]. Those parts are: the forehead [along with the tip of nose], both hands, both knees, and [toes of] both feet.[end]

Note:It is clearly mentioned in above  Sahi hadiths bukhari and Muslim tuck up of clothes(folding of clothes) n hairs are forbidden

=== Here is the More proofs Folding pant (trousers) below the ankle is Forbidden  ===

If pant's bottoms are at ankle it is not allowed to fold them to perform namaz, perform the Namaz without folding them. If pant's hems are kept below ankles because of pride, it is HARAM, in this case Namaz will be Makrooh-e-Tehreemi (Wajib to repeat Namaz) otherwise it's only Makrooh-e-Tanzeehi which is Khilafe Aula in Namaz. Same is written in Fatawa-e-Rizvia in part three on page 448.

In case of folding the pants hems in Namaz will definitely be Makrooh-e-Tehreemi which will make it Wajib to perform the Namaz again.

It's in Hadees *. Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihe Wasslam said:" I was ordered that not to fold hair and cloth (In Namaz)" ted in (Darr-e-Mukhtar with Shami Part one page 473. art one, Page 137)

Hozoor Sadr-u-Sharia Aleh Rehmat says that the one who has proper clothes and still performs Namaaz wearing a T-shirt or a Vest it is considered Karahat-e-Tanzeehi and if one does not have proper clothes than there is no Karahat in it, it is allowed. Allah Ta’ala Knows the best.
(Fatawa Amjadia Part 1, Page 193)

(Darul Uloom Amjadia, India, Printed in Monthly Kanzul Iman-India)

It was reported in a hadeeth narrated by Abu Dawood that Abu Hurayrah
said: “Whilst a man was praying with his izaar (lower garment) hanging
below his ankles, the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah
be upon him) said: “Go and do wudoo’.”… He said, “He was praying with
his izaar hanging below his ankles, and Allaah does not accept the
prayer of a man who lets his izaar hang below his ankles.

(Narrated by Abu Dawood, al-Salaah, 543.)

== Answering Misconception Regarding the hadith of trouser below the ankles in hell fire ==

Sahih Bukhari vol 7 hadith no 678, Narrated Abu Huraira, RadhiAllah Anhu
The Prophet
(sallAllahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) said, “The part of an Izar which hangs below the ankles is in the Fire.”

Note:Hadith is "SAHIH"  it does not mean to wear long pant below the ankles and fold up in namaz ,hadith does not says to keep ur (pant) trouser up by folding  only in namaz but it says to wear clothes above the Ankles Folding pant in namaz is Forbidden as above It is Proven From Sahi hadith from Bukhari & muslim

And Finally Fatwa from of Ulema E Haq Mufti Mohammad Abdul Qadar Rizvi on Folding pant in namaz is forbidden

fatwa on folding trousers in namaz

Having your trousers below the ankles on purpose due to pride or arrogance is haraam and Folding of pant is Forbidden . If your trousers are below the ankles for any other reason then it is makrooh-e-tanzeehi and this would not make it wajib to repeat your salaah but you would lose reward.
And Allah subhana ta'la and His Rasool Sallallahu alyhi wa sallam  knows Best

........May Allah Subhana ta'la give All Muslims Hidayat
to  avoid folding Pant (trousers) in salah.........

Touching Quran without wadhu Zakir naik Refuted

Touching Quran without wadhu Zakir naik Refuted.

=== wahabi Zakir Nalayak Forgery Caught Red handed ===

Zakir naik said touching Quran without wadhu is Permissible Ma'azAllah

listen from his own Mouth watch live video here :-

====Refuting Zakir Naik Disrespecting beliefs upon Quran misquoting verses and
trying to prove that quran can be touch without wadu MaazAllah.====

In Above Video Zakir Naik Quoted Surah Waqia`h ch 56 ayat no 77-82

Exact verses is ayat no 79 in this which clearly Says

لاَّ يَمَسُّهُ إِلاَّ الْمُطَهَّرُونَ

79. Which none touches but the pure ones

what does Pure means ? zakir naik claims that it doesnot refers to
wadu Lets us see what authentic scholars and sahaba Believe about it

===Complete Refutation of Zakir Naik on his Disrespecting beliefs about Touching quran without Wadhu===

From Qur'aan :

It is surely the Noble Qur'an (recorded already) in a protected book
[the Preserved Tablet] that is not touched except by the purified ones
[the angels] .... 77-79)

Note: purified in the sense refers to wadhu

hadith of Hakim ibn Hizam (Allah be pleased with him), in which the
Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said,“Do not touch the Qur’an unless you are in a state of purity.” [Related
by Imam Malik in his Muwatta, and deemed sound by early and late hadith
authorities, such as Imam Nawawi in his Majmu`]

From Sunnah:

عن حکیم بن حزام ان النبی لما بعثہ والیاً الی الیمن قال لا تمس القرآن الا وانت طاھر

(مستدرک حاکم)

Sayydina Hakim Ibn Hizam (RA) narrates that I was deputed as a Wali
towards Yemen by the Prophet (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) and he said,
"Don't touch the Quraan unless you are Taahir (clean from impurity)."

عن عبداللہ بن عمر ان رسول اللہ قال لا یمس القرآن الا طاھر

(رواہ الطبرانی)

Sayydina Abdaullah Ibn Umar (RA) narrates that the Prophet of Allah
(Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) said, 'Don't touch the Qur'aan except in the
state of purity.'

(موطا امام مالک)

Abdullah Ibn Abi Bakr Ibn Hazm (RA) narrates that the Prophet of
Allah (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) wrote in a letter to Sayyidina Amr Ibn
Hazm (RA) that the Qur'aan should not be touched except in the state of
. (Muwatta Imam Malik)

The story of Sayyidina Umar (RA) is well known that when he asked for
the Quraan, his Sister (RA) insisted for him to purify himself and he
then did Wudhu before touching the Quraan
. The version from Dar-Qutni is
narrated above.

From Maariful Qur'aan of Mufti Shafi Usmani (RA):

إِنَّهُ ۥ لَقُرۡءَانٌ۬ كَرِيمٌ۬ (٧٧) فِى كِتَـٰبٍ۬ مَّكۡنُونٍ۬ (٧٨) لَّا يَمَسُّهُ ۥۤ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ (٧٩)

(It is surely the Noble Qur'an (recorded already) in a protected book
[the Preserved Tablet] that is not touched except by the purified ones
[the angels] ....[ 77-79)

Purity Refers to Wadhu And Even Arab wahabi Scholar Agreed that purity
Refers to Wadhu and It is Not Permissible to touch Quran without wadhu
zakir Naik teachers also Refuted him

Listen here from Arab wahabi scholar Touching Quran without wadhu is Not permissible :-

here is the more Proofs from wahabi website who agreed Quran cannot be touch without wadhu

Proof # 1 from wahabi website

Verdict of Shaykh Bin-Baaz (RA):

It is not permissible for a Muslim to touch the Qur'aan when he does
not have wudoo
, according to the majority of scholars. This is the view
of the four imaams (may Allaah be pleased with them), and this was the
view expressed in the fatwas of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him). A saheeh hadeeth concerning that has
been narrated from 'Amr ibn Hazm (may Allaah be pleased with him),
stating that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
wrote to the people of Yemen: 'No one should touch the Qur'aan except
one who is taahir (pure).' This is a jayyid hadeeth which has a number
of other isnaads which strengthen it. Hence it is known that it not
permissible to touch the Quraan except in a state of purity from both
major and minor impurity. The same applies to moving it from place to
place, if the person who is moving it is not taahir. But if he touches
it or moves it with something in between, such as picking it up in a
wrapper, then it is OK. But if he touches it directly when he is not
taahir, this is not permitted according to the saheeh view of the
majority of scholars
, for the reasons stated above. With regard to
reciting it, it is OK for him to recite it from memory when he is
without wudoo, or for him to read it if the Quraan is held by someone
who asks him to correct or prompt him.

But the person who is junub, i.e., in a state of major impurity,
should not recite Quraan, because it was narrated from the Prophet
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that nothing ever kept him
from reciting Quraan except for janaabah (major impurity). Ahmad
narrated with a saheeh isnaad from 'Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him)
that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came out
from the toilet and recited something from the Qur'aan. He said, 'This
is for the one who is not junub; but the one who is junub should not do
this, not even one aayah.'

The point is that the one who is junub should not recite Quraan
either from the Mus-haf or from memory, until he has taken a bath
(ghusl). But the one who has broken his wudoo and is impure in the sense
of minor impurity may recite Quraan from memory but she should not
touch the Mus-haf.

Source: Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 10/150
Verdict of Shaykh Salih Al-Munajjid:

wahabi website:-

Proof # 2 from wahabi website

Q) I know that it is not permissible to touch the Mus-haf (copy of
the Quraan containing Arabic text only) unless one has wudoo', but does
this ruling apply to single verses or books of Tafseer (Quraanic
commentary) or books of Seerah (Prophet's (salallahu 'alayhi wasallam)
biography) etc?

Praise be to Allaah.

It is not permissible for a person who is in a state of impurity to
touch a single aayah
because the ruling on that is the same as the
ruling on the Mus-haf. But if there are other things written alongside
the aayah, as in books of Tafseer and Fiqh, then the ruling depends on
which is the greater; if there is more Quraan than anything else, then
it is haraam to touch it without wudoo, but if there is more of writings
other than Quraan, then it is permissible to touch it.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
'Anything on which there is Quraan comes under the same rulings as the
Mus-haf if there is only Quraan on it, but if other things are written
on it as well as Quraan, then the ruling depends on which is the
greater. It is permissible to touch books of tafseer, hadeeth, fiqh and
essays in which there is some Quraan.' (Sharh al-'Uddah, 1/385).
